Worship

We will have an All Age Service of the Word tomorrow, led by Steph Gregory, and a Service of Holy Communion, the week after (19th) led by Carol Pharaoh, both at 9.30 AM at St James.  

We will have Wiggle Worship on Wednesday at 9.30 AM 

We will have our regular Book of Common Prayer Communion Service on Wednesday at 10.30 AM

Urban Outreach Grub Tub

Urban Outreach who serve all the Bolton area with food parcels unfortunately are running low on stocks & are finding it difficult to fulfill this service as they would wish. If everyone at St James could remember to bring even just one thing regularly it would be a great help & they could continue their work with those in desperate need. PLEASE HELP!   

Inclusive Church Network

I am pleased to let you know that following a decision taken last year by the PCC, we have now been admitted to the Inclusive Church Network.  The mission statement of the network is:

“We believe in inclusive church – a church which celebrates and affirms every person and does not discriminate.

We will continue to challenge the church where it continues to discriminate against people on grounds of disability, economic power, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, learning disability, mental health, neurodiversity, or sexuality.

We believe in a Church which welcomes and serves all people in the name of Jesus Christ; which is scripturally faithful; which seeks to proclaim the Gospel afresh for each generation; and which, in the power of the Holy Spirit, allows all people to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Jesus Christ.”

St James Church 200 Club

The 200 club renewal is due from 1st June.

This year we raised £1200 for Church which is a great achievement.

Thank you to all those who support it. We currently have 6 spare

numbers. If anyone would like to take on a number or think about

taking on an additional number, please contact church for further details

St James Study Group

The regular study group at St James will meet at 6.00 PM on Sundays 28th June and 26th July, everyone is welcome

June 28th Group will take place at St James Church

Ignite Youth BBQ

Ignite Youth will be taking place on Saturday 11th July   

Usual place:  St John’s Wingates  

Please note:  starts at earlier time of 6pm and finishes 8pm 

Ignite Youth is for Year 6 & up and includes activities, food and games. We want to invite any Year 5s moving up to Year 6 in September as well.  Parents, carers & siblings are welcome too!

Please remember to RSVP letting us know numbers so we can cater for everyone.  Also, if there are any dietary requirements or allergies.

Reengage Social Group 

The charity Reengage is hosting monthly social groups at the John Holt Community Centre.  It will be held on the last Wednesday of each month 12:30-2:30. The group aims to bring friendship and companionship to older adults in the community.

Each month there will be mixed games including indoor bowls, skittles and cards. There are complimentary hot drinks, and biscuits, and plenty of time to socialise and meet new friends. The group is friendly and led by our wonderful volunteers who take time to chat with the attendees.

St John’s Wingates Church on a Wednesday from 10.30am - 11.30am.

Capri, Market St , Westhoughton, on a Tuesday from 10am - 11am.
