Study Group
Our regular Study group will meet in church on 10th August at 6.00PM
St Bartholomew’s day and anniversary events
The congregation of St Barts are inviting everyone to join them for their 11.00 PM service in commemoration of their Patronal Saint Bartholomew's on the actual day, Sunday 24th August. The service will be followed by a bring-and-share buffet lunch [there's always plenty to go round]. You could get there after the 9.30 service at St James, if you want to do both.
It's also the 30th anniversary of the opening of the new St Bartholomew's church this year at the end of October, so St Bart’s are planning some events for the weekend of 25th / 26th October and the 30th anniversary of the opening organ recital on Saturday 22nd November at 2:00pm [free recital with refreshments], more details over the next few weeks. We'll send out more details in the next few weeks.
Team Retreat
The date has now been set for next year’s retreat at Foxhill as 15th to 17th May 2026. More details will follow.

Reengage Social Group
The charity Reengage is hosting monthly social groups at the John Holt Community Centre. It will be held on the last Wednesday of each month 12:30-2:30. The group aims to bring friendship and companionship to older adults in the community.
Each month there will be mixed games including indoor bowls, skittles and cards. There are complimentary hot drinks, and biscuits, and plenty of time to socialise and meet new friends. The group is friendly and led by our wonderful volunteers who take time to chat with the attendees.

Thyme to Grieve
Jane who has been running the talking tables at Thyme for Tea, as a new initiative for the recently bereaved
called Thyme to grieve. It is every 2 weeks, the next session is 28th July and every 2 weeks after, held at:.

Young people from across the team in Year 6 and above are welcome to attend this event which is held monthly at St John's Church on a Saturday evening. Those children who are thinking about being Confirmed in the autumn this year are especially invited and strongly encouraged to come. (Ignite Youth meetings will form part of the preparation for Confirmation.)
